  • Kissimmee has launched a new interactive Latin Culinary Trail map featuring 20 Osceola County restaurants that offer authentic Latin flavors—fun facts on the map help locals and visitors learn about venues like Susana’s Café and La Mexicana.  Spectrum News 13

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Deerwood Elementary School opened its 34-year-old time capsule Wednesday and uncovered mementos including class photos, handwritten papers, artwork, and a water-damaged teddy bear—items that spark memories of the past.   • Community members and Osceola schools partnered with Scouting America's Central Florida troops to bundle Thanksgiving baskets for the FIT program using donations of over 24,000 pounds of food.   • Residents in St. Cloud will be able to apply for the free Citizens Academy, which will run weekly on Tuesdays from 6-8 p.m. from Jan 20 to April 21, 2026, to learn how their city works. Osceola County opened Falcon Trace II, a 354-unit affordable housing community near the Poinciana SunRail station—while the new FHP and CFX Desk Trooper Program lets drivers report minor crashes safely—clearing incidents in about 24 minutes.  Around Osceola
  • Osceola County's population is expected to grow from 460,000 to 700,000 by 2050 as county officials note a 70% increase over the past 20 years.   • B.A.S.S. announced the schedule for the 2026 Newport Bassmaster Kayak Series (presented by Native Watercraft) which will include six top fisheries across the nation.
