  • The Rotary Club of Kissimmee West is joining Rotarians across Osceola County to mark World Polio Day on October 24 – members will raise funds, awareness, and support to help end polio worldwide.   • Osceola Arts unveiled the vibrant 'Wings of Community' mural at the Orange Gardens Community Center in Kissimmee last Thursday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony—adding an augmented reality feature accessed by a QR code. Local artist Deivi Sanchez completed the five-wall project over the summer and aims to boost community engagement as the center hosts educational programs during its renovation.  Positively Osceola

  • ChampionsGate Boulevard will be closed nightly from October 13 to October 15 from 11:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for I-4 bridge work, and motorists must follow detour routes via Ronald Reagan Parkway, Lake Wilson Road, and Osceola Polk Line Road—drivers should rely on posted signs for guidance.  WFTV

  • Orlando Health has announced $1.1 million in grants to nonprofits across Central Florida to improve urgent health needs identified by the 2025 Community Health Needs Assessment — each organization will receive its full award at the start of the funding cycle.   • Kissimmee City Commission voted Tuesday to select Vine Street Redevelopment LLC as master developer for Edon Park, a garden redevelopment project on the old Kmart site along Vine Street west of Thacker Avenue. The five-year plan will offer 630 housing units, retail space and an indoor facility, and it includes a new street connecting Vine with Columbia—measures set to boost connectivity and spark downtown renewal.  Around Osceola

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Osceola Kowboys won the District 5, Class 6A championship Friday night by beating the Viera Hawks 13 to 10 at Markus Paul Stadium (Henry Ramsey Field) in Kissimmee. Their victory extended a long district title streak and secured a 19th consecutive playoff berth while senior running back Jeffrey Sinophat was evaluated for a head hit and did not return.  Positively Osceola
  • On Thursday afternoon, St. Cloud tied with Harmony by scoring 152 points each for the OBC Girls Swimming championship at Markinson Aquatic Center in Kissimmee as Elise Jurgen and Avery Powell each won four gold medals—marking the Lady Bulldogs’ first title since 1996 and the first championship tie in OBC swimming history.  Positively Osceola
