- ➤ CareerSource Central Florida — Osceola will host a job fair for paraprofessionals on October 16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Osceola County Career Center at Valencia College’s Osceola Campus in Kissimmee. Job seekers who meet eligibility requirements such as an associate’s degree, 60 semester hours, or a high school diploma with a passing ParaPro Test will earn a starting hourly rate of $16.71, and advance registration is encouraged. - ➤ Kissimmee city staff will present a redevelopment proposal for the old Kmart and Big Lots site on West Vine Street to the commission Tuesday night. The plan by CapStrata and Hedrick Brothers Development features 630 new homes, 51,000 square feet of retail space, and a 73,400-square-foot indoor sports facility — further details will be negotiated if approved. - ➤ Osceola County officials hosted voter registration events Monday as part of National Voter Education Week, with 213 high school students registering to vote.
