  • NeoCity Academy in Kissimmee is adding artificial intelligence classes to help students meet the fast-changing needs of local tech companies. Nearly 90 students already work at 14 companies like Skywater Technology—where senior Jaylon Prophet interns five days a week—to gain hands-on experience.  Spectrum News 13

  • Central Florida had an 80% chance of rain on Monday with highs in the mid-80s and scattered showers with possible thunderstorms recorded in the Orlando and Cocoa Beach areas. Forecasts predict drier conditions later this week as the wet pattern fades.  WESH

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Federal employees in Florida have been working without pay as a government shutdown that began Oct. 1 continues—TSA officers at Orlando International Airport and others now face financial hardship. Advocates say the dispute over healthcare subsidies may worsen household costs and lead to mass firings if Congress does not reach an agreement soon.  Orlando Weekly
