- ➤ The Florida Department of Transportation will close eastbound ChampionsGate Boulevard under I-4 from 11 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. through Thursday while crews install girders and add pavement to expand I-4 to up to 12 lanes—an effort expected to cut drive times by half. The work is part of the Moving I-4 Forward project, which will be completed by 2026. ClickOrlando
- ➤ Osceola County is planning a 49 foot tall memorial called Wings of the Rainbow—meant to honor the 49 lives lost in 2016—at Brownie Wise Park in Kissimmee with a groundbreaking scheduled for next month. More than a dozen residents and a wildlife expert say the project’s bright lights and construction may harm protected birds, and county officials have not yet answered questions on cost or environmental impact. - ➤ The City of Kissimmee has begun renovations on The Haven on Vine, a former Super 8 Hotel (located on west Vine Street near Hollywood Avenue), to create 40 efficient studio apartments and a new hub for resident services.
