- ➤ Applications opened Monday, Sept. 2 for the 2026 Victory Cup Initiative that supports nonprofits in Orange, Seminole, Brevard, and Osceola counties by offering funding, storytelling training, and a chance to present at a Shark Tank—style event in February. The application portal will close Sept. 22 while neighbors help select 10 finalists as community evaluators. WESH

- ➤ Three teenagers (aged 15, 17, and 18) were arrested after allegedly entering a construction site and causing $5,000 in equipment damage; two were booked into the Orange County Juvenile Assessment Center and the 18-year-old into the Osceola County Jail. FOX 35 Orlando
- ➤ Attorney Kelly Mathis, who was previously involved in a Florida gambling scandal, spoke on April 23 at a Lake County Commission meeting to oppose changes in gaming oversight as evidence links him to a Marcos Lopez co-conspirator who ran an illegal casino at 4561 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway in Kissimmee—though he has not been charged. WESH

- ➤ Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis spoke Tuesday at the FDLE operations center in Orlando to highlight a drug operation that led to 17 arrests and resulted in six pounds of fentanyl and four pounds of cocaine being seized—valued at about $1.5 million.
