- ➤ The Guardian ad Litem Foundation of Osceola County will host its 8th Annual GALa Silent Auction and Casino on October 4 from 6 p.m. to midnight at Rosen Shingle Creek on Universal Blvd in Orlando to raise funds for children in foster care. - ➤ Kissimmee leaders approved an $180 million-plus project to transform the civic center site into a 10-story, 300-room luxury hotel and a 45,000-square-foot convention center with features including restaurants, a rooftop pool and spa, and shuttle service to nearby airports. The redevelopment will create 400 construction jobs, up to 250 hospitality positions, and generate as much as $6.5 million in annual property taxes while construction is set to begin soon for an opening in 2028—announced by Mayor Jackie Espinosa and local business owners.
