  • On Wednesday, the Osceola Chamber honored 39 graduates of its five-month Leadership Osceola program that teaches community collaboration, public safety, healthcare, economic development, and education—applications for the next cohort open on Sept. 1.   • SeaWorld Orlando will host its fifth annual Howl-O-Scream event from Sept. 5 to Nov. 1, featuring five haunted houses, six scare zones, live shows and themed bars—a lineup that includes new attractions like Widow’s Nest, The Rave Yard and The Collector’s Curse along with returning favorites such as Farm 51 and Water’s Edge Wellness Center. The event is planned for adults only and starts at 7 p.m. with gates opening at 6:30 p.m.  Positively Osceola
  • Silver Spurs Rodeo will host Boots, Bulls & Barrels at Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee on Oct. 4 at 7:30 p.m. The one-night event will feature barrel racing, saddle bronc riding, and bull riding for cash prizes — and introduce Big Boss Kaye Whaley of the Silver Spurs Club.  Positively Osceola

  • Osceola County students earned advanced degrees and academic honors during spring 2025 at out-of-area colleges, with Kyle Rose of St. Cloud earning a Master’s in Computer Science at Minnesota Duluth and local scholars from Kissimmee recognized at Georgia Tech and the University of Tampa—other students were also named to various Dean’s Lists.  Around Osceola

  • On August 13, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier issued an emergency rule that made 7-hydroxymitragynine from kratom a Schedule 1 substance—retailers were required to remove the product as enforcement began on Thursday.  Orlando Weekly
