- ➤ A major crash on I‑4 westbound—just after the State Road 429 exit—slowed traffic and caused injuries near Champions Gate around 6 a.m. Wednesday, the Florida Highway Patrol said. WESH
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Osceola County Superintendent Dr. Mark Shanoff said the district will start the 2025-2026 school year with a day one celebration that carries optimism throughout the year — he noted that significant gains last year and the upcoming opening of two new schools will offer fresh opportunities, and classes will resume Monday, August 11. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Osceola County installed new speed cameras in school zones to catch drivers who go as fast as 70 mph—more than triple the speed limit. The cameras run 30 minutes before and after school hours and have already issued thousands of tickets under the new law. ClickOrlando
