  • The City of Kissimmee will host a Summer Pickleball Tournament at Oak Street Park on Friday, July 25 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.—participants must be 18 or older to compete. The tournament will bring together experienced players and newcomers for a morning of friendly competition.  Positively Osceola
  • On Sunday, volunteers from ASEZ WAO cleaned up roadside trash along Orange Blossom Trail in Kissimmee in low 90s heat as humidity pushed the heat index to 105–110. Trucks provided water and Gatorade—ensuring volunteers took regular breaks to stay safe.  ClickOrlando

  • On Saturday at 5:12 p.m. a 30-year-old Kissimmee man lost control of his 2017 Yamaha FJ-09 motorcycle on Orange Avenue near Mary Louise Lane when he failed to negotiate a left-hand curve—he was struck by a guardrail and killed at the scene.  Positively Osceola

  • Osceola Arts is closing its 64th season by presenting the Tony Award-nominated musical Catch Me If You Can at its Kissimmee theater through August 3—based on the true story of con artist Frank Abagnale Jr. Special accessible performances are scheduled on August 1 at 7:30 p.m.—audio described and on August 2 at 2:00 p.m. with ASL interpretation.  Positively Osceola

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • On Sunday, more than 50 young volunteers cleaned a section of roadway along Orange Blossom Trail in Kissimmee as part of a three-year commitment through the Florida Department of Transportation’s Adopt-A-Highway program—volunteers collected between 500 and 1,000 pounds of trash and plan to continue cleanup efforts in Osceola County.  WESH
