ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A crash partially shut down the I-4 westbound lanes near SR-429 in Kissimmee around 3:30 a.m. Friday — Florida Highway Patrol reported that by 5:15 a.m. drivers were using the right lane and shoulder with injuries noted.  WESH

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Orlando Ballet and Ette Hotel are launching a Nutcracker-themed tea at the Salt and Cellar restaurant in Kissimmee; reservations are open for seven December dates with three seating times at $95 per person—dancers will greet guests on Dec. 6.  WESH

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • A heat advisory was in effect for most of Central Florida on Friday when temperatures felt like triple digits. Today, local readings show about 96 that feel like 105—residents should stay cautious as forecasts predict similar dangerous heat for Sunday.  WESH

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Recent data show that Kissimmee homes saw a 5.5% drop in the median sale price in May and properties are now staying on the market for 69 days—up from 41 days last year. Local property appraisers and agents say the market is stabilizing as sellers adjust pricing and buyers look for deals amid current mortgage rates near 7%.  WESH
