Suspended Osceola Sheriff Marcos Lopez pleaded not guilty to racketeering and conspiracy charges after court records showed his now-shuttered Eclipse Social Club in Kissimmee and up to five other Central Florida gaming rooms may have been used for illegal gambling — prosecutors say he collected over $600,000 in illicit payments.

At a Kissimmee car wash on Monday, Helen Marie discovered her car had been stolen when suspect Chanel Aisha Anderson drove it through the facility—causing $20,000 in damage and crashing it into several vehicles, a tanker truck, and a pole—leaving the eight-month pregnant mother taken to a hospital as a precaution.

On Monday, the City of Kissimmee and the Kissimmee Place Development Group held a groundbreaking for a Hyatt Studios hotel next to the Gateway Airport.

The updates may replace noise meter readings with a plainly audible method after 10 p.m. and ban outdoor speakers to better control complaints.
