- ➤ Osceola County law enforcement arrested several suspects in a series of burglaries at short-term rentals on May 31, June 1, and June 3—officers recovered stolen wallets, electronics, and credit cards and used security footage and cell phone searches to link the crimes. WESH
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ The city of Kissimmee broke ground on a new 122-room Hyatt Studios next to the Kissimmee Gateway Airport — the first airport hotel expected to boost tourism, flight instruction and local economic growth — creating nearly 300 construction jobs and around 200 hospitality roles. The Hyatt project is scheduled to be completed in late 2026. WESH

- ➤ Osceola County schools earned their highest-ever B grade from the Florida Department of Education by missing an A by two points — the district will use new student-led learning methods to improve next school year. ClickOrlando

- ➤ A cut fiber optic cable disrupted 911 service in Lake, Marion, Citrus and Osceola counties—officials said that a contingency plan shifted calls to Sumter County where dispatchers handled emergencies like a shooting and a structure fire.
