ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ At 10:56 a.m. yesterday, Kissimmee Fire Department responded to a multi-vehicle crash involving at least four cars and seven people at the intersection of West Vine Street and North Thacker Avenue on U.S. 192—five individuals were taken to a nearby hospital—and all lanes remain closed as police direct traffic and investigate the scene. - ➤ On Monday, Robin Severance Lopez appeared in a hearing in Lake County to prove she met the $400,000 bond conditions for a felony racketeering case—her lawyer said additional funds must soon be verified as she remains detained. ClickOrlando

- ➤ Florida’s Board of Governors will meet on July 11 to choose a plan to start a non-profit group — the Commission for Public Higher Education — to review public colleges in six states. Gov. Ron DeSantis and state officials said the new group will offer an alternative to the old accreditor that has clashed with state education leaders. Orlando Weekly

- ➤ Old Lake Wilson Road in Kissimmee experiences heavy backups near the I-4 overpass and will be widened from two to four lanes—adding sidewalks, bike lanes, and a second bridge to improve both traffic flow and emergency access. FDOT will begin its Moving I-4 Forward project this year while Osceola County plans to widen the south section in fiscal year 2027, though the exact start date is not yet set. Spectrum News 13
