- ➤ Osceola County opened the new 1.5-mile Kissimmee—St. Cloud Connector Trail on Thursday as part of the 200-mile Master Trail Network Plan. Commissioner Cheryl Grieb said the federally funded trail runs from Partin Triangle Park on Neptune Road along the south side of the C-31 Canal and connects to the Fortune Lakeshore Trail at Brown Chapel Road — a project that will enhance local recreation and travel. Ron DeSantis signed SB 180 on Thursday, June 26—which now requires local governments to set debris-management sites, plan post-storm rebuilding and limit permit fee hikes—and mandates that hoisting equipment be secured 24 hours before an anticipated hurricane to prevent a repeat of a crane collapse during Hurricane Milton.
