Good morning, Kissimmee.

Experience Kissimmee is accepting applications from eligible nonprofits in Osceola County to be its charitable partner for 2025 to 2026 from July 1 through July 31, 2025—applicants may receive cash and event donations if chosen by the selection committee—as part of its commitment to support local projects.

On Memorial Day, a Kissimmee man from Brazil was detained by ICE at the Grand Canyon despite having a Florida ID and work permit—his boyfriend said the detention disrupted their wedding plans and he is raising money for legal help to bring him home.

Following an investigation by the Orange County Sheriff's Office into misconduct allegations—including claims that former officer Andrew Baseggio assaulted Sean Kastner on an April 2023 call—four officers were fired, three resigned, two were demoted and three were suspended as city officials discussed forming a new civilian oversight board.

During Tuesday night’s City Commission meeting, the City of Kissimmee presented a proclamation to the NAACP of Osceola County recognizing June 19 as Juneteenth—honoring freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equality for African Americans.

This action reflects the city's commitment to inclusivity and historical awareness.

The City of Kissimmee will host a public meeting on June 25 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at City Hall - 101 Church Street where residents, business owners, and community members can share feedback on proposed sign code updates.
