🚨 Crime
Osceola County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that executive director Nirva Rodriguez was terminated Monday following Sheriff Marcos Lopez’s arrest on felony gambling charges (officials said the connection remains unclear) and a civilian employee was also let go.
Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash in Osceola County where a black Honda Accord struck and killed a bicyclist early Sunday on Pleasant Hill Road near Cypress Cove—a witness said the car fled the scene while a Volkswagen Jetta could not avoid the impact.
Sharon Fedrick, 50, posted a $300,000 bond and was released just before 9 p.m. Monday in a racketeering case involving suspended Sheriff Marcos Lopez, who remains in jail on a $1 million bond, and officials reported the gambling operation generated over $21.6 million—legal proceedings will continue.
