- ➤ Earlier this year, a woman was seriously injured when an 8 foot alligator bit her paddle and elbow as she was kayaking at Lake Kissimmee State Park and a man fended off the gator by ripping off his life vest after it bit him, while a separate incident on May 6th saw a 61 year old woman die when her canoe capsized near Tiger Creek and the alligator was later killed. - ➤ On Thursday, officers shot a man with a rifle on the 4300 block of West Vine Street in Kissimmee and he was taken to a hospital—officials said there is no threat to the public and that the scene is secure. FOX 35 Orlando
