  • A 75-year-old Orlando man died and two Kissimmee residents were hurt when a 35-year-old Orlando Tesla driver lost control on Wetherbee Road at 2:30 p.m. Saturday while trying to pass a slow vehicle and hit a LYNX bus that overturned briefly, with the bus driver and a passenger taken to hospital plus the Tesla driver suffering serious injuries.  Around Osceola

  • PrideFest Kissimmee will return to downtown at the Civic Center on May 31 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.—presented by Experience Kissimmee with support from KUA and Toho Water Authority, the event will feature live acts by The Bettys, Kissimmee Queens, and the Orlando Gay Chorus—and will offer Glow in the Dark Bingo for adults, face painting, and vendor booths.  Positively Osceola

  • Local 32-year-old Pamela Pontes Cordeiro Silva turned a $10 ticket from the Wawa on W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway into a $2 million win from the SILVER STREAK Scratch-Off game at Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee this week — she chose a one-time lump-sum payment of $1,195,000 while the retailer earned a $4,000 bonus commission.  Positively Osceola

  • The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office—led by Sheriff Marcos R. Lopez—ran the final leg of the 2024 Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Florida last Friday, covering 5.5 miles from downtown Celebration to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Chief Deputy Dan Weiss later expressed pride in the agency's ongoing support for Special Olympics Florida and thanked the community and partner divisions for their help along the route.  Positively Osceola
