Good morning, Kissimmee.

Osceola Reads launched its 2025 Summer Reading Challenge today for preschoolers ages 3 to 5 who have not yet entered kindergarten in Osceola County.

The program will run from June 2 through August 11 and will track reading progress on the Beanstack platform with checks on June 17, July 1, July 15, July 29 and August 12—top readers will receive prizes from the Early Learning Coalition of Osceola County.

The Simon Wiesenthal Center’s Mobile Museum of Tolerance will visit Hart Memorial Central Library and the Poinciana Branch Library in Kissimmee to offer free, interactive workshops on civil rights and Anne Frank starting May 19 and May 22—sessions led by trained staff will run at several times throughout each day.

On Friday, Pamela Pontes Cordeiro Silva claimed a $2 million prize from a Silver Streak scratch-off game at a Wawa on West U.S. Highway 192 near Island H20 waterpark—she received about $1.2 million in a lump-sum payout, and the retailer won $4,000.
