Here's your local news at a glance for Tuesday, the 21st of April.
Good morning, Kissimmee.
🎓 Education
The Osceola County School District will vote today at 5:30 p.m. on shifting from fixed pricing to an interim model for computer devices as rising AI-driven RAM chip costs threaten a 30% price increase for its 80,000 students.
🌲 Environment
Gusty winds and low humidity raise wildfire risk across east Central Florida as the National Weather Service issued a Fire Weather Watch covering Volusia, Lake, Orange, Seminole and Osceola Counties today — conditions that could let any fires spread quickly.
🏛️ Government
Osceola County is hosting a free hurricane preparedness event on Saturday, May 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at NeoCity OC Building (194 NeoCity Way) where multiple agencies will offer guidance on emergency kits, family plans, and evacuation steps.
