EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Jolene Sheive was sworn in Tuesday evening as the District 3 representative on the Osceola County School Board in the district boardroom. A lifelong local resident and community leader, she pledged to listen to and support students, teachers, and families. Positively Osceola
- ➤ Osceola County Schools will work with Caissa K-12 (a recruitment firm from Memphis) to boost student enrollment after financial challenges from low numbers affected the district. Superintendent Dr. Mark Shanoff said the outreach will target both new and former students and confirmed that no school closures are being considered. FOX 35 Orlando
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ A water sample taken on March 2 detected blue-green algae toxins at the pavilion area in Lake Marian, and the Florida Department of Health issued a health alert. Residents are advised not to swim, drink, or use the water—protecting themselves and their pets until the situation is addressed. Positively Osceola
